The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) was founded in 1969 in London to provide high quality education and training in wines and spirits for those already in or intending to join the trade, and also enthusiastic consumers. Since then, WSET has grown into the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education, with a suite of sought-after qualifications ranging from basic introduction to wine tasting to the deepest knowledge on all aspects of the wine industry. WSET LEVEL 1 IN WINES


The level 1 Award in wines is an entry level qualification providing a straightforward introduction to wine. It is ideal for boosting the confidence of new or inexperienced front line staff in the hospitality and retail sectors. It is also a great course for those wanting to know the main grape varieties, how wine is made as well as food and wine matching.

WSET LEVEL 2 IN WINES AND SPIRITS


This 3 day qualification teaches you about the key grape varieties grown around the world, the different styles of wine obtained from them and the production of spirits and liqueurs. It’s an introduction to the main countries producing wine in Europe and the so-called new world. You will also learn the bases of professional wine tasting.

WSET LEVEL 3 IN WINES 


This 5 day qualification gives comprehensive coverage of the different regions producing wines in the world as well as vine-growing and winemaking techniques. Tasting becomes the key element in learning. The objective is to provide core knowledge of the wide range of wines and spirits around the world to equip those in a supervisory capacity with the authority and confidence to make informed decisions in a wide variety of trade situations.

Worldwide recognized as the leading qualification for experts in wines and spirits, the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits is a specialist qualification where detailed product knowledge is combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits. The WSET Diploma is also universally viewed as the stepping-stone to the Master of Wine qualification.
